Father’s Day is fast approaching, and it’s time to show Dad some love. “Dads” can be any male figure in your life who’s guided you and influenced you in a positive way – stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, and adult family friends. Celebrating this special bond lets them know you appreciate their love and support.

Forget buying a shirt or grill tool and celebrate the day with your Dad this year by having some fun together. Here are several ideas for creating lasting memories that you both will remember for years to come.

Is your Dad a baseball fan? Or maybe just a fan of ballpark grub? Take him to the Diamondbacks game against the Mets at Chase Field on Father’s Day – the first 15,000 Dads in the gates receive a free D-backs Hawaiian shirt.

Maybe your Dad likes to be a little more active? The Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course located in the Fort Tuthill County Park might be just the spot. They have rope swings, zip lines, scrambling walls, and other obstacles for all skill levels.

Or level up to something even more thrilling by checking out Sky Dive Arizona in Eloy. Teens 18 and over can take to the sky with Dad, or there’s an indoor wind tunnel option for those under 18 – or for the peeps a bit too timid to jump from a plane!

If those ideas sound a little much, there’s always the natural beauty of Sedona’s famous red rocks. The Sedona Secret Seven lists provide suggestions for all kinds of activities from hiking, biking, picnicking, and stargazing to cultural and spiritual events.

Sometimes it’s fun to act like a tourist in your own state. Spending the day at Old Tucson is like going back in time to the Old West. They offer living history presentations, film history tours, rides and games for your whole family. And men get in free all Father’s Day weekend long.

And, there’s always the movies. How about taking your Dad to see The Incredibles 2 or Solo: A Star Wars Story at one of the many Harkins Theatres around the state?

Father’s Day plans don’t have to cost a lot of money, and Dads of teens just want to spend a little quality time with their kids. Make a pact to put your phones away for most of the day and just talk with your Dad about how much he means to you. That’s the best gift of all.
